I am so happy that I purchased this ceiling fan and replaced another similar fan in our daughters' room. I wanted to make their room smart as I did with most of our house and was looking for a new one that would allow app control and have a working memory function. Then I came across this ceiling fan that offered all of that and also an RGB backlighting and an extra remote what they called smart dimmer that sounded quite innovative. I immediately ordered it and I am so glad I did it. First, installation is very easy thanks to their innovative screwable plate which makes it easy to hang the fan and connect the cables and just turn it clockwise when ready. However, the biggest thing I found very innovative and haven't seen in other similar fans is the smart dimmer control that is so intuitive and fun to use instead of the standard remote. You can control the brightness, color temperature, fan speed (continuous!), light, RGB and Fan on/off with an effective button control. I would have still used it and replaced the wall switch with this one if the dimmer when pressed not only turned off everything (which is great!!!) but also turned them on to last state next time it was pressed. This would essentially remove the need to have a wall switch. Why is this important you might think. Some people in an household or guests who come in may not be technically inclined and having remotes to control a light turning on and off when they go into a room may frustrate them and they may prefer to use the switch by default. If they just turn off the wall switch, your smart functionality, i.e., app/Alexa/Google Home control is totally gone. I have the light on schedule so turning off the ligth from the switch disables that.
Regarding the RGB backlighting, it is also great and my daughters love it. They also love to use the dimmer as it makes it fun. However, you cannot control the brightness of the RGB backlighting, you can only control the brightness of the main light via voice commands, the remote, or the app. Fan is also pretty effective and quite. Of course I love the fact that you can adjust the speed continously either from the dimmer remote or the app. App works perfect and connecting to Google was a breeze.
Overall, I am very happy with this ceiling fan even though I debated a lot before purchasing whether I really needed to replace the working one in the room but it was certainly worth it.
If you're reading this, you already know how difficult it is to find a ceiling fan with light kit that is made well, won't break the bank, easy to install, and actually works. There are so many products, many of them seem identical under a different name.
I'm happy to tell you that this low-profile 20 inch ceiling fan from Orison IS in fact what I was hoping for. We clicked the BUY button a little hastily because we were just sick and tired of looking at fans online. I did look up Orison however and they did seem like an actual company (IKR?!). They're based in the UK and make nothing but fans it would seem. So that was a good sign.
When we received the box, it was really well packed. There were virtually no flaws in the product. We purchased the gold (but would have preferred silver if it were available) and even though the housing is plastic it does have a subtle brushed metal appearance.
Installation was super easy, barely an inconvenience! It was actually easier than my previous Big Box Store fan which I also loved. Despite the description, the fan is not blade-less, per se. It has fan blades inside the grill cover which can be removed for cleaning. The fan blades do push out some significant air at the highest speeds, but it can be pretty noisy.
The lighting brightness, color temperature, and dimming are all excellent. The remote is mostly well labeled. You'll have to refer to manual to figure out some of the icons. But there's no instruction on the Reverse Fan Direction. Basically you have to hold the reverse button on the remote while it's already in motion and the fan blade will slow down, pause, then restart in the opposite direction. And that's it. Repeat to reverse again.
This Orison wasn't the cheapest in this category of fans. But for me, it was well WORTH the quality that I received. And that's the best deal you can hope for.
Easy to install, it so bright, the colors are vibrant. And the most important part for me the fans many speeds keep the small room cool. The remote control is something that I need for everything now.
Took apart my old wobbling ceiling fan and this new fan’s bracket fits right up there. 2 screws and its very light compared to my old one. Daughter was mesmerized by all the colors.
Ideal in a small space, this light is bright or soft exactly as I need. The fan is whisper quiet but really does move air around. I was able to install this light/fan in my home office in under 30 minutes. Super happy with how light but solid it is.
